Mercedes-Benz Sprinter

4x4 Sprinter Van Conversions

Six Titan models on the Sprinter 144 and 170, built on your 4x4 or AWD chassis in Boulder, Colorado, with the suspension, lift and tire packages fitted in the same shop.

What four-wheel drive changes in the build

A 4x4 or AWD Sprinter sits higher, weighs more and goes further from pavement than a rear-wheel-drive van, and a conversion has to be designed for that. Titan builds are engineered and manufactured in-house in Boulder: the cabinetry, bed platform, electrical system and water tanks are sized to the Sprinter and to its weight rating with your gear aboard, and every component is built to be serviced after years of washboard roads.

The layout, the systems and the price are the same whether your Sprinter is 4x4, AWD or rear-wheel drive. What changes is what we can fit underneath it, and where you can take it.

Questions

4x4 and AWD Sprinter conversions

Does a 4x4 or AWD Sprinter change the price of the conversion?

No. Every Titan model is priced as a conversion on your Sprinter, and the drivetrain is part of the van you supply. The layout, the systems and the price are the same on a 4x4, an AWD or a rear-wheel-drive Sprinter. Suspension, lift and tire packages are priced separately in our service catalog.

Should I buy a 4x4 or an AWD Sprinter for a camper conversion?

Either works for a Titan build. Earlier Sprinters came with a selectable factory 4x4 system and newer ones with full-time AWD; both add ride height and traction for forest roads, snow and trailheads. Tell us which one you have or are ordering and we build to it.

Which Titan models are built on the Sprinter?

The Classic, the Metis and the Ultra are each offered on the Sprinter 144 and the Sprinter 170, so there are six Sprinter builds to choose from, each available on a 4x4 or AWD chassis.

Can you add a lift, suspension or bigger tires to my Sprinter?

Yes. Our Boulder service center installs suspension packages, lift kits, wheel and tire packages and fender kits on Sprinter 2500 4x4 and AWD vans, on new builds and on vans we did not convert. Each package lists its fitment and the tire sizes it clears.

Does the conversion weight matter on a 4x4 Sprinter?

Yes, and it is designed in. Titan components are engineered to keep the finished van within the Sprinter's gross vehicle weight rating with your gear, water and passengers aboard, which is also why suspension packages are matched to the loaded weight rather than an empty van.

Do you build 4x4 Sprinters for people outside Colorado?

Yes. Owners come to Boulder from across the country for a four-wheel-drive build, and most collect the finished van at the shop with a full walkthrough. Denver International Airport is 45 minutes away.
