The Titan Vans Metis is a camper van conversion built for easy living: a double Murphy bed that folds down at night, a two-person couch for the day, and a kitchen with an induction cooktop, an Isotherm drawer fridge and a large sink. It is available on the Mercedes Sprinter 144″ and 170″ and the Ford Transit 148″ and 148″ EL, seats up to four and sleeps up to six. A 5-gallon cassette toilet, a rear utility spray-down shower and a fold-down exterior table come standard, along with a 330-watt solar panel, a Victron 200 Ah lithium battery and a Webasto furnace. Built to order in Boulder, Colorado, by an RVIA certified builder, from $74,995 (van not included).

How the Murphy bed works

In a camper van, a Murphy bed folds up and out of the way during the day, so the back of the van works as a lounge and dining space, then folds down at night into a double bed on the Titan Vans mattress. The Metis pairs its double Murphy bed with a rear couch and a Lagun table, so two people can lounge, eat or work without making and unmaking a bed.

The bed hangs on a self-supporting strap system with no legs, which leaves 36.5 inches of clear space beneath it for bikes and gear when it is down, and opens up the garage when it is stowed. Every Classic floorplan and the Ultra 144 use a Bi-Slide bed instead; every Metis floorplan and the Ultra 170 are Titan's Murphy-bed builds.

An induction cooktop, a large sink and faucet, an Avonite countertop and an Isotherm Drawer 85 Fridge (an Isotherm Drawer 130 Fridge/Freezer on the Sprinter 170″). The kitchen is supplied by a 22-gallon wheel-well water tank, a 4-gallon electric water heater and a 9-gallon gray water system.
